Treatments Covered by National Health Insurance
Health insurance covers 70% of the cost of the following treatments:
● Consultations with a doctor
● Prescribed medicines
● Injections
● Treatment materials
● Surgical operations
● Bed/Room and food charges
Treatments Not Covered by National Health Insurance:
● Normal pregnancy and child delivery costs
● Abortion for economic reasons
● Routine checkups and physical examinations
● Immunizations
● Cosmetic surgery
● Orthodontic treatment
● Injuries resulting from accidents in the workplace or commuting to work. (These are covered by employees’ accident compensation insurance)
● Acupuncture, moxibustion, massage unless ordered by a doctor, in which case it may be covered.
● Other alternative medicines, examinations and procedures
● Bed/room charges and food charges over and above the set threshold
